Before your first stitch

Crochet pattern questions, answered

Everything you need to know about choosing, downloading, and using a Craftitory digital pattern.

Am I buying a finished crochet item?

No. Craftitory listings are digital crochet pattern PDFs. Yarn, hooks, materials, and finished physical items are not included or shipped.

What skill level do I need?

Skill level varies by project. Check the individual product page for its level and techniques. Start with a small project and review the materials and stitches before beginning.

Which yarn should I use?

Use the yarn weight and quantity specified in your pattern for the closest result. When substituting, choose a similar weight and fiber, make a small test sample, and remember that a different yarn can change the finished size and texture.

Which crochet hook size do I need?

The required hook size is listed in the pattern. Treat it as a starting point: tension differs between crocheters, so you may need to adjust slightly to create the intended fabric or meet the stated gauge.

How will I receive my free PDF?

Choose a free pattern—currently the Happy Mushroom or Winter Snowman—and enter your email in that pattern’s form. MailerLite will send the selected PDF to your inbox. Check spam or promotions if it does not arrive after a few minutes.

Can I print the pattern?

Yes, you can view the PDF on a phone, tablet, or computer, or print a personal working copy. The digital file itself may not be shared, republished, resold, or redistributed.

Can I sell items made from a Craftitory pattern?

Please check the usage terms included with the specific pattern, because terms can vary. The pattern text, photos, charts, and digital file remain protected and may not be copied or redistributed.

What if I need help with a step?

Reply to a Craftitory email with the pattern name and the step or round that is unclear. A clear photo of your work can also make troubleshooting easier.
